Forest Road Residence

A restrained landscape framing a boldly suspended form.

A modern marvel on Vail’s eponymous Forest Road, this residence occupies a tight building lot with precision and restraint. The landscape architecture extends the depth of the building to the street, using disciplined paver layouts and architectural planting to create a layered arrival sequence.

Planter boxes operate as both landscape and structure—playing with height, retaining grade, and integrating the site into the architecture itself. The result is expressive yet minimal, where every element earns its place.

A cantilevered, glass-bottomed pool punctuates the composition, reinforcing the project’s sense of suspension and control. The landscape does not compete with the architecture—it sharpens it, grounding a bold form with clarity and intention.
