Meet the Ceres+ design team — collaborative landscape studio

Meet the Team

Behind every Ceres landscape is a team of people who care deeply about the land and the work they do. Our designers, builders, and field crews bring skill, curiosity, and a steady commitment to doing things well — together.

We believe great landscapes come from strong relationships: with clients, with collaborators, and with each other. Our team members have spent years working in mountain environments, learning how land, weather, and time shape every decision. What connects us is a shared respect for place, a pride in craft, and the understanding that the best work happens when people feel valued and supported.

Our people are the heart of this place

Our design team brings a thoughtful, systems-based approach to landscape architecture, grounded in collaboration and real-world experience. We design with a deep understanding of how landscapes are built and cared for — ensuring ideas remain connected to place, process, and longevity.

Portrait of Kathy Aalto

Kathy Aalto

Principal Landscape Architect

Kathy Aalto brings nearly three decades of landscape architectural experience to her work as Principal Landscape Architect at Ceres+. Since 1996, she has helped shape the design legacy of the company through thoughtful client leadership, conceptual clarity, and a nuanced understanding of how landscape, architecture, and site can come into lasting balance. Kathy is especially drawn to the interplay of plants, grading, and built form—always studying how a landscape matures, reframes itself, and reveals new layers over time. With a background in landscape architecture and a career that has grown alongside the evolution of Ceres+, Kathy brings both artistry and experience to the work, along with a lasting curiosity about plants, hardscape, and the relational exploration of the built and natural environments. Outside of work, she’s often found trail running with her dogs, reading with a cup of coffee nearby, or drawn to the kinds of landscapes that surprise, delight, and stay with you.

Chris Ponder

Senior Landscape Architect & Project Manager

Chris Ponder joined Ceres in 2021 and brings a thoughtful blend of design vision, technical expertise, and on-the-ground project leadership to his work as a Landscape Architect and Project Manager. Working fluidly between Ceres+ and Ceres Landcare, he occupies a unique role that bridges landscape architecture and construction—designing beautiful, mountain-adapted landscapes while helping guide their realization with clarity and care. With his background in design and implementation, he helps shape a uniquely integrated design-build process that draws on the strengths of both. Guided by care and inspired by the ecosystems and outdoor environments of Colorado, Chris creates landscapes that embrace the natural character of place while inviting people into deeper connection with it. Beyond work, he is most often exploring wilderness trails with his wife Babette and their beloved dog Maggie, on foot or by bike, or finding grounding in the quiet beauty of a mountain stream, an untouched glade, or any landscape that deepens connection to the natural world.

Portrait of Cait Stone

Cait Stone

Garden Design and Enhancement Manager

Cait Stone joined Ceres in 2016 and brings a special blend of artistic vision, design instinct, horticultural knowledge, and relational intelligence to her work. As Garden Design and Enhancement Manager, she designs high-end residential gardens and enhancements, leads planting and enhancement sales, and serves as a connective thread between Ceres+ and Ceres Landcare—helping translate big ideas into deeply personal, site-responsive landscapes. With a background in fine arts, Cait thinks like a painter and designs like a plantswoman, approaching each project as a layered, living composition rooted in beauty, feeling, and place. She was drawn to Ceres by the exceptional quality and artistry of the work, and remains inspired by the depth of care, creative possibility, and shared commitment to building landscapes that feel both beautiful and alive. Outside of work, she is most at home in her garden, on a bike, wandering a mountain meadow or wooded trail, or laughing with her friends, her husband and her kids in the midst of everyday life.

Natalie Coleman

Landscape Designer

Natalie Coleman has been part of Ceres since 2021, bringing curiosity, creative instinct, and a strong eye for refined landscape design to her work as a Landscape Designer. Trained in landscape architecture at the University of Georgia, she focuses on collaborative, elevated design that respects and complements the native environment while creating spaces that feel beautiful, functional, and deeply suited to the people who live in them. Natalie was drawn to Ceres by its high-end design, attention to detail, and the quality of the people behind the work, and she brings that same standard to every project through a mix of care, artistry, and imagination. Beyond work, she’s often drawing, reading, aerial yoga, baking, soaking up sunshine, or seeking out the kind of quiet meadow that makes the whole world feel a little softer.

Portrait of Clint Granros

Clint Granros

Landscape Designer

Clint Granros has been part of Ceres since 2021, bringing thoughtful leadership, artistic depth, and a refined design sensibility to his work as a Landscape Designer. Trained in landscape architecture at the University of Georgia, he focuses on new-construction and mountain-residential work—developing concepts, refining spatial ideas, and collaborating closely with architects, builders, and clients so design intent stays clear from early sketches through documentation and into the field. Clint was drawn to Ceres for its rare balance of elegant design and grounded values, and he brings that same ethos to every project—shaping landscapes that dissolve the boundary between outdoor living and the native mountain environment. Deeply influenced by art, nature, and the dialogue between them, he sees landscape design as both a creative act and a form of stewardship. He aspires to continually create what nature does intuitively—which, for Clint, is both inspiring and humbling at every turn. Outside of work, Clint finds grounding in painting, drawing, writing, and time on the basketball court—all practices that continue to inform his eye, his process, and his sense of beauty.
